ButterflyEffect Pro ("we", "our", or "the app") is a personal journaling app that helps you discover cause-and-effect chains in your daily events. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights.
When you use ButterflyEffect Pro, you log personal events and notes. This data is stored exclusively on your device using iOS local storage. We do not upload or retain your events on any server.
To find cause-and-effect chains, the text of your events is sent to our API, which forwards them to Anthropic's Claude AI. Specifically:
ButterflyEffect Pro offers optional subscriptions processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We never see or store your payment details. Apple's Privacy Policy governs these transactions.
Your events remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. Our servers do not retain event data after responding to an analysis request.
ButterflyEffect Pro is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
